![]() The speed of submarines underwater should be reduced by a noticeable percentage. The torpedo's still seem to need a nerf though, so I also propose this mechanic: homing torps have a risk of turning around and trying to hit the sub that fired them (this happened irl) (I'm not going to suggest the rate at which this should happen, I don't feel experienced enough.) I think the German submarines should be immune to attacks by their own torps, as they were irl, if this is to OP, then they have drastically reduced chances of their torp attacking them.ģ: Underwater Speed: The speed of submarines underwater must be faster then it was irl, or submarines will not be able to go anywhere when submerged. If a ship is moving at max speed, the torp homes like a double ping, if the ship moves at 3/4ths or 1/2 speed, the torp acts as if one ping, and if the ship moves at 1/4th speed or is stopped, the homing stops as well. I suggest homing torpedo's, like in real life, home on the sound made by the screws of the red ship. WG will not remove homing torps from the game, therefore they must be changed without removal of the sonar ping mechanic, as one is ineffective without the other. If a sub is moving at max speed underwater, hydro detects it at its surface detection range, and only at 1/4th speed or stopped, does it have 2km detection range.Ģ: The Torpedo: The homing torpedo is a weapon that is hard to dodge, and delivers a OP payload for its ease to land. This however, would make submarines too easy to detect, so I propose that the range hydro can detect a sub depend on how fast the sub is moving, like real life. Since hydro is the only way a surface ship can detect a submerged sub, it is logical to improve the range from 2km to something more reasonable like the subs surface detection range. Therefore, this is the only submarine complaint I am willing to make, unless a massive change comes along.ġ: Detectability: Submarines are far too hard to detect, but when they are detected, the effects are devastating to the sub. ![]() No one wants to admit that they made a mistake, especially if they are being told about it all the time. ![]() Submarines need a nerf, and I propose these criteria that I think all sub changes should follow, in order of importance:įrom what WG has shown us by their actions we can conclude that they are not willing to massively change how submarines operate, and that is understandable. ![]()
